How would an individual experience a development assessment process?
The process is as follows;
- The candidate is sent a set of personality measures and required to complete and return them to Thompson Dunn prior to the assessment day
- The assessment day is divided into two parts – the morning involves the candidate taking three half-hour cognitive ability tests conducted at our office. The afternoon is dedicated to one-to-one consultation with one of our consultant psychologists. Results of the morning’s ability testing is fed back along with full explanation and discussion on the personality measures.
- The candidate takes away from the day a printed report of the output of the tests
- Thompson Dunn then produces a written report, interpreting the day’s activity in total with recommendations for a personal development plan. The report is confidential and sent only to the candidate. However, we encourage the candidate to share this information after the process with line management and Human Resources where appropriate, in order to build on the recommendations offered.
- The candidate returns for a follow up session to discuss the report and work together with the consultant to formalize their development plan.
- Candidates can then be contracted to a consultant for follow up coaching support. Via telecom, email, face-to-face meeting at our offices or at their offices.
